IL PARRASIO
Il Parrasio — formed in 2024 at the Royal Conservatory The Hague, and comprising musicians from Italy, Slovenia, Japan, and the USA — focuses largely on Italian repertoire of the late seventeenth and early eighteenth centuries. Their performances balance historical awareness rooted in rhetoric with a naturalistic, conversational ethos that invites listeners into a shared musical space. Since its inception, the ensemble has won the first and audience prizes at both the Bonporti and Legrenzi competitions, played in the finals of the CIMA competition, and was chosen as a 2026/2027 represented ensemble by the S-EEEMERGING+ program. Recent appearances include concerts on series such as Carpe Artem (SI), Utrecht Early Music “Fringe” (NL), and Musica Antica Da Camera (NL). In 2026, Il Parrasio will attend residencies and play concerts in Italy (Musica Mirabilis), Croatia (Festival Kvarner), Germany (Internationale Händel Festspiele), and France (Centre Culturel de Rencontre, Ambronay ; Fondation Les Arts Florissants, Thiré).
